This division, established in 1995, was created for
the purpose of providing protection to steel structured
buildings with respect to the required fire
rating imposed by the Civil Defense Department.
The main protective coating materials used by
Mercury are the following:
Cementitious Products
Mercury uses sophisticated machinery and a welltrained
workforce for the application of Asbestos
fiber and fiber migration free non-carcinogenic
fireproofing material, a well-recognized product
used widely throughout the world including GCC
countries. This material is regularly used in areas
that are concealed in the final phases of construction.
Intumescent Coating
The intumescent fireproofing coating materials
are mainly used for steel structured projects
requiring a decorative finish. The procedure is
performed by using an airless spray machine.
Mercury has successfully completed many major
projects using this material including the National
Bank of Bahrain headquarters and the Gulf Air
Safety and Survival Hanger.
